Qualcomm targets home networks for IoT

Global Giant Qualcomm is looking determined to target the growing number of connected devices within the home. Qualcomm is releasing a new Wi-Fi technology package which addresses home network congestion issues.

Home networks were never designed to cater to the connectivity needs of high number of devices. But with the growth of IoT, companies are working on technologies to provide consistent service to home networks. The new chip standard designed by Qualcomm is 802.11ax. It will effectively handle this issue.

The number of IoT devices is increasing consistently. It is predictable that in coming years majority of these devices will be used in enterprise solution but it is more likely that the number of consumer IoT devices will continue to rise as well. Looking into the statistics of growing number of mobile devices, it may be seen that home networks will have more devices trying to connect and transmit or receive data.
