GeoITHub as a Digital India Run-up Partner for ICEGOV 2017 announces first of its kind on-line “Geospatial Knowledge Contest(GKC 2016)” (supported by Digital India) that focuses towards advanced topics like Location Analytics, Internet of Things(IOT), Mobile Technology, Smart Cities, Business Intelligence, Remote Sensing, Convergence of GIS with IT, Drones/UAV’s, Artificial Intelligence just to name a few. Objective of GKC is to raise awareness of Geo-Spatial technology in young minds and showcase the Geospatial Knowledge of school students, undergraduates, post-graduates, Ph.Ds researchers/scholars to the world.

All you need to do is SHARE! Share your knowledge or ideas in any of the above technology fields, in the form on ONE PAGE BLOG (Minimum 300 words) and win a Cash Prize. Awards :

There are two categories in which one can participate.

Category A(Tech Blogger) is for Under-Graduates, Post-Graduates, PhD’s students and also for Researchers from any recognize institutes of India.

Category B(Early Scribblers) is for school students of class 10th, 11th, 12th grades from any stream.

Winners will be decided by team of Jury as per judging criteria of entry mentioned in the section below “Judging Criteria”.

All the Winners will be invited to Award Function, scheduled to be held in February/March 2017 at New Delhi. We will provide reimbursements of train tickets (2nd AC/AC Chair Car) for short distance (less than 500KM from Delhi) and Economy Class Air Fair for long distances. We will also provide accommodation during stay at Delhi. For participants from Delhi / NCR accommodation will not be provided.

All participants will receive a participation certificate from GeoITHub (Subject to Qualifying blog content criteria). All entries received will be eligible for show-casing at GeoITHub website, subject to moderation.

Applicants must meet all of the requirements below to qualify for the competition. • Applicants must be the age of 15+ or older;
• Applicants must be enrolled in any school/college of India and could be from any stream.
• All work must be the original work of the applicant and include his past published work.
• Only one entry allowed per applicant.
• Only individual submission is allowed (no group projects).

There are two ways of submitting your entries:

1. Online Submission

  • Register yourself at geoithub.com using the SIGNUP menu.
  • Once you are register then you will be able to see “Submit Your Entry” menu option in menubar.
  • Enter the details as relevant and upload your document in word or PDF format. File size should not be more than 8MB. All content should be in one document only. Only one entry will be entertained by participant and last entry will be treated as final.
  • 2. Through Email

  • Register yourself at geoithub.com using the SIGNUP tab.
  • After Registration, Email your tech blog content at gkc2016@geoithub.com enclosed in a document (pdf or word) with the following details in email body:
  • – GeoITHub User Name
    – Full Name
    – Email ID
    – Qualification
    – Registration No./ Roll No. and Year of Study
    – University/College/Institute/School Name
    – Branch/Class
    – Department and Course Name
    – Category in which submitting.
    – Topic Name
    – Phone Number/Contact Number

    The competition will be judged by a panel of experienced geospatial specialists, and the combined scores from all judges will determine the winners. Entries will be judged according to the below criteria:

  • Screening of entry will be done based on basic Blog Content Criteria as explained in next section.
  • After screening, entries will be judged by Jury Members and short listing of candidates will be done.
  • Short-listed candidates will be invited for presentation/discussions which will be organized through on-line session, for i.e. Skype / Team Viewer/Tele-Phonic.
  • Based on presentation/discussion and assessment marks by judges, winners in each category will be decided.
    All winner’s entries will be show cased at GeoITHub (including our Facebook, LinkedIn and twitter pages) along with the Author Profile.

  • Content must be in English only.
  • The blog post should contain minimum 300 words and should be structured properly with Headings/Sub-Headings/Points/Relevant images. (Refer to sample blog format).
  • Content must be written in your own words and should be original.
  • References must be properly mentioned along with web link/photo credit/data sources.
  • Upload your entry in .docx or .pdf format only.
  • File size not more than 8 mb.
  • The idea/concept must have possible applications and examples in Geo-Spatial field. (Refer to sample blog format).
