Smart City and its Communication Model Enabled with Smart Village and Underground Roads

Objective: The objective of the paper is, pre exploration of findings and assumptions to plan a smart city and smart village project with underground traffic system.
Abstract: The concept of Indian smart city can be different from the existing smart cities in other countries. We can develop our own concept and premises of a smart city. In this paper the described smart city concept may be most suitable for Indian culture and geographic conditions that is very close to the Nature with high quality lifestyle, zero pollution and latest technology transport system, the smart city using the underground vehicle support system. The smart city is directly connected to a smart village to make the city independent and safer. The top view of smart city enabled with smart village and underground roads is given in Fig. 1. The paper also describes the communication model, that is best suitable in adverse conditions like earth quakes, disaster etc.

Smart City: A city where the people are using the resources in a smart way. Well planned resources with good governance, best management and planning. There must be eco-friendly environment with pollution control system. The city must have smart ways of safety and security controlling systems. A city with green revolution. The Hi-Tech city enabled with all solutions and least problems. In Fig.1 the half part of the model is showing smart city. The city is having smart offices, schools, universities, vehicle, marts, living campus etc. The Communication hub is the centre of communication network and the backbone of the city is its road network. The underground road network is for heavy vehicle and the ground road network is for smart eco-friendly smart vehicles. The white lines in fig.1 are showing the road network of the city and village. Fig.2 is showing the underground road network and underground market area of smart city and smart village.
The Smart People: The aware people who are well educated and have good understanding of technology and practical exposure of smart city, resource utilization and technology handling.
The resources and their management: The resource are two types, natural resources and man-made resources.
The Natural Resources can be used in various ways such as the Sun light can be used in solar energy generation for backup, cooking, heating, eco-friendly cars and small electronic air buses etc. Natural water can be used in beautification of the site, purification projects (pollution control) and channelization, drinking etc. The power of Air can be used for purification of the Environment for sustainable development and to reduce breath problems. Trees and plants has always acted as the best friend of human life. A smart city can have the concept of independent vegetables, grain and milk plan. It means the smart city people will not be dependent upon imported vegetable, grains and milk. The will have their small smart village enabled with the smart city. The people of the smart village can share the education and mart facilities of smart city.
Man-Made Resources are developed by the man for better and easier human life. Such as transport facility, daily need products, electronic products, stationary, food, public places, offices and schools.
The public places like yoga centers, parks, Schools must be well planned, well maintained and quality life places in terms of natural air, low stress zone zero pollution zone and high safety zone.
The transport vehicle must be minimum in a smart city to control the pollution. Vehicle must be eco friendly and they must have a common parking to move out- side the smart city only. To move inside the city only common/public local city cars or buses must be permissible which are pollution controlled and energy saving. The smart tracks with magnetic energy generator can be developed that can be used to optimize the speed of small smart vehicles. Markets must be well equipped safety concern and products in the markets must have predefined rates. All the system must be very transparent, there must not be a single place of discrepancy. The people of smart city and smart village must be well trained for art of living in a smart way.
Technology Enabling and RS/GIS services for smart city/village resources. The smart people must be trained in technology like e-transaction, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems to find the location and resources with security features. The Internet services/connections must have all security features. Some indigenous apps for the people of smart city can be developed with RS/GIS Services.
The smart village which is the part of smart city to make the city independent for vegetable, grain and milk. In Fig.1 the lower half part of the circle is the smart village. The smart village is similar to the smart city but the work of the people is different. The people of the smart city are management/education/technology professionals who goes to offices for their earnings while the people of the village are science and technology professionals who grows the vegetables and grains for earnings. Without changing the original livelihood of a village, the idea is to make the village smart.
A Village has three main components: 1. The People of the Village.
- The Facilities in the Village.
- Cultivation area of the village.
Therefore the Smart Village Process can be divided into two major phases:
Phase-1: Making the Villagers Smart
Villagers can be smart, if they will find the better opportunities and secure future in the village itself. When the villages and the villagers will be the priority of Indian and State Government.
When they will be capable to find and grow their food in village itself smartly by applying engineering and scientific techniques.
When they will feel respectable position in India.
When they will be well trained for e-transaction and awareness.
They will save the time in feeding their animals.
They will save the time in growing their vegetables and grains.
They will save their time to push their products in the market and will receive appropriate cost of the product without any mediator.
Phase-2: Making the village Smart
Smart facilities and assets: these are the facilities and assets which make the work of a villager easier, some are given below.
High technology farming assets and skill.
Better opportunity of education and employment.
Wi-Fi facility, planned dairies with defined grazing land, vegetable markets.
Well planed houses and markets.
They will have smart meeting house (Panchayat Ghar)
Improved Houses/Colony Plan
Connectivity to the market
Connectivity to the hospitals
Connectivity to the higher education
Waste treatment plant
Cow dung treatment plant
Good Drainage System of the village
Connectivity to the Govt. planning, schemes and orders for the villagers
Training and capacity Building of the villagers.
To maintain the quality of a smart village, some norms can be defined in terms of population, area and facilities that will be under controlled supervision.
The Communication Model and Smart Information Network (CMSIN): Telecommunication System play a very important role for the sustainable development of a smart city. The Communication Model and Smart Information Network (CMSIN). The technology is the integration of National Knowledge Network (NKN) and Satellite communication as shown in fig.3. The model will also have the capability to switch on to any working network within range. In case of ground network failure, the essential services station could switch on to satellite communication. The technology may be helpful during disasters and earth quakes. The model CMSIN will be enabled with every smart device, vehicle and smart building in the smart city. So the people could be updated with current information.
Conclusion: The concept of smart village and smart city given in the paper can be most sustainable development of an area that will make the high quality and safe life style and implementation of the plan may be a good achievement of a State that will be a new revolution towards a quality life. However the paper has briefly touched few ideas but a good canvas for the development. The communication model given in the paper can be proven best suitable model for smart city and smart village model. All the matter added in this paper are original and innovative.
