State of Karnataka has completed mapping of 21 diverse departments including schools, hospitals, and industries. This platform named K-GIS, was proposed by the Knowledge Commission 3 years ago, covers 41 features that both make efficient administration a breeze as well as provide an easy access to government plans & database.
“The Karnataka State Remote Sensing Application Centre (KSRSAC) is leading the project implementation. It will enable a series of specialized GIS applications for governance—basically a set of applications needed by various departments,” information technology minister Priyank Kharge.
The first version of the portal is expected to be launched in the last week of November. This type of portal will give entrepreneurs an advantage as now they wonât have to depend on consultants to pick the best location for their interest of set-up.
This portal will provide analytics tools to the citizen providing insights on schools, topography, population and other resources.
